wines

Franz Strohmeier has made wine in West Styria for decades. After years of following the methods he learned at school, he began to question why wines from different places were starting to taste alike. He turned to organic farming, then began making wines with fewer cellar interventions, so the grapes and each vintage could speak more clearly. His TLZ name—Trauben, Liebe und Zeit, or “Grapes, Love and Time”—says a lot about the approach. Franz’s focus is less on making a statement than on learning to trust the vines and the place they grow.
