Collection: Heinrich-Burgenland-Austria
Heinrich is a biodynamic estate from Burgenland’s Neusiedlersee region in Austria, run by Gernot and Heike Heinrich, deeply rooted in the idea that wine should speak of the land and the seasons, not the cellar. Their vineyards lie on steep limestone and schist slopes where wind, sun, and stone shape everything that grows.
Instead of polishing or correcting, they let nature do the talking. Wild yeasts, spontaneous ferments, long lees contact, skin maceration and clay or large wood ageing are all part of the conversation. This is wine that isn’t smooth or featureless, but alive, textured, and uncontrived; it’s about letting each variety and each site reveal something unexpected. Their whole “Freyheit” line explores freedom in winemaking, freedom from strict categories, and freedom for grapes to show sides of themselves that typical winemaking tends to bend away from.
