Aglianico (Red)
Aglianico is often called the “Barolo of the South,” a grape known for serious structure and ageworthy character. Cantina Giardino’s Chianzano Rosso 2020 is sourced from old hillside Aglianico vines in the same rugged Campanian hills and vinified with Cantina Giardino’s characteristic low-intervention approach — spontaneous fermentation, extended presence on skins, and ageing in large neutral vessels or wood without filtration.
This wine carries an engaging mix of ripe dark fruit and earth — think red berries, subtle spice and a hint of olive or savory herb — supported by a firm but friendly tannin framework. It’s satisfying rather than aggressive, with a texture that feels lively and grounded, and it holds up beautifully with richer food or simply on its own as a deep, contemplative red.
Vibe: textured, rustic elegance.
Think: dark red fruit, earth spice, subtle tannins, balanced finish.
