Nekaj — meaning “something” in Slovenian — is Damijan’s pure expression of Friulano. The grapes macerate for 60–90 days in large oak vats, then age for three years in 20–30 hl barrels before resting another year in bottle. Golden yellow in the glass, Nekaj opens with aromas of dried pineapple, ripe peach, yellow flowers, and a touch of yogurt and spice. On the palate, it balances honeyed richness with a gentle bitterness and the mineral depth of the terroir. Fine, smoky tannins and a subtle tangerine finish make it a complex yet graceful orange wine — elegant rather than heavy, with both character and finesse.
