Collection: Movia-Brda-Slovenia

Movia is one of Slovenia’s most iconic wineries, sitting on the rolling hills of Brda, right along the border with Italy’s Collio. The estate has been in the Kristančič family since 1820, and today it is led by Aleš Kristančič, one of the most charismatic voices in the natural wine world.

The vineyards stretch across both Slovenia and Italy, farmed organically and biodynamically without compromise. With vines that average over 35 years of age, planted mostly on mineral-rich flysch soils, Movia focuses on classic regional grapes like Ribolla, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

In the cellar, the approach is as minimal as it is bold. Wines ferment spontaneously with native yeasts, often spend long periods on the skins (sometimes months), and age in large oak barrels deep in their cool stone cellars. No fining, no filtration, and no shortcuts. Even their sparkling wine, Puro, is disgorged underwater at the moment of serving — a true expression of Aleš’ experimental yet authentic spirit.

Movia’s wines are powerful yet graceful, full of depth and personality. They stand at the intersection of tradition and innovation, carrying centuries of heritage while always pushing boundaries.

Movia isn’t just wine, it’s Slovenia in a glass — wild, elegant, and unforgettable.
