Yann Durieux is one of Burgundy’s most exciting voices, known for combining deep regional roots with a rebellious, natural wine spirit. Raised in Nuits-Saint-Georges and trained for nearly a decade at the legendary Domaine Prieuré-Roch, he launched his own domaine, Recrue des Sens, in 2010 in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. Farming organically and biodynamically, Yann works mainly with old vines and low yields, giving his fruit both intensity and balance. In the cellar, everything is kept as natural as possible: native yeasts, whole clusters, minimal intervention, and little to no sulfur, resulting in wines that feel raw yet precise. While his vineyards lie in classic Burgundy, many of his bottles are labeled Vin de France, a deliberate choice that lets him stay free from rigid appellation rules. The wines themselves are vivid and alive, often showing delicate red fruit, herbs, minerality, and energy — complex but approachable, serious yet playful. Yann has built a reputation as a winemaker who respects tradition while daring to reimagine it, making Recrue des Sens a name to know for anyone curious about Burgundy’s natural edge.
