Grenache Blanc, Heathcote Vermentin, Syrah

A textural, savory-orange wine with personality. It’s made from a blend of 50% skin-contact Grenache Blanc, 25% whole-bunch Heathcote Vermentino, and 25% direct press Syrah. The Grenache Blanc and Syrah see about 7 days’ maceration, while the Vermentino is whole bunch, and the wine is aged for 9 months in neutral oak (without topping up the barrels) before being blended and finished in stainless steel one month before bottling. It’s wild fermented, unfiltered, unfined. 

In the glass, it shows a glowing orange-rosé tone (leaning toward skin-contact or “amber” styling), with lively fresh acidity and a savoury, phenolic edge. Aromas and flavours include blood orange, ripe cherries, a touch of herbal nettle, and subtle oxidative notes for complexity. The texture is mouthfilling — enough grip from skins and oak, but balanced so it doesn’t feel heavy. It finishes with a savoury tang and freshness that invites another sip. 

At ~ 11.9% alcohol, this is a wine designed to be enjoyed now — vibrant, layered, and charmingly unconventional.
